First race! Due to rain last weekend one of Jaz's soccer games was re-scheduled for tonight. Racer girl doesn't want to let her soccer team-mates down but she still wants to race but can't do both. Racer girl went to school this morning with much on her mind! I will re-number her kart this afternoon and she will have to decide when she gets home from school...
This morning she wanted soccer but now she wants to race! I figured she was going to play soccer so I didn't do anything with the kart - panic mode now to get everything ready for tonight!
We managed to get everything ready and I decided to take my digital video camera to catch the action but in our haste it was left behind. We got to the track and drew our number for starting position - Jaz got the pole and then went on to win her 1st ever race! Very exciting race with her and the number 3 battling back and forth, she took the lead with 2 laps to go and was able to hang on for the win. In the feature race she started up front on the outside she slipped back to 3rd position and was pushing too hard into turn 2 and went up into the loose dirt, she was able to hang on and get the car back on the track without losing position! She managed to grab second place but the leader in car number 20 was flying! Racer girl was very tired! Looking around, I think she was the only racer at the track that brought a teddy bear! (update - my mistake, official finish was 3rd place)
