Tire just has slow leak, so I will just check it before a race. Jaz wants kart painted orange, of course I start the night before a race! This is becoming a pattern, last minute items. It is 11:30 (day of race) and I still have paint, numbers and assembly left (yikes!). I finish with 30 minutes to spare, we load up and head out. Wife and I with 2 daughters $50 to get in pits, my head is calculating $50/wk and adding up the numbers - not sure how I explain to wife to start looking for 2nd job! New format at track, her class will run 2 heats (8 laps each) and a feature (12 laps) and her class will be first out. Six karts show up for her class. She runs 4th in the 1st heat and says she was sliding around a lot. I drop the tire pressures and she gets 2nd in the 2nd heat. We leave things alone and she gets 5th in the feature. Everyone gets a trophy! Racer girl is very proud of her 1st trophy!
