Seven, seven - this has got to be a lucky week, right? I loaded the Kart up Saturday and took it out to Jerry because I was hearing a noise in the bearings in the rear axle. I get out there and of course the noise stops. While I have the Kart out Joy and I go thru it and get it ready, changed oil with Valvoline 10w-30, blew out air filter, checked all bolts, checked air in tires, removed rear wheels and lubed rear axle. We put the Kart back in the garage amazed that we are ready to go.

The speedway had a float in Ralston's 4th of July parade. The girls got to ride on it and Joy walked alongside. Click here to view.

Wednesday I find a 5x8 enclosed trailer out at Bomgaar's that normally sales for $1,899 on clearance for $1,399 I talk to the sales guy and get it for $1,299. We can now load all the Kart stuff including chairs and just leave it in the driveway, this will make unloading after the race so much easier! Anyone need a slightly used 4x7 open trailer?

It's Friday and we registered the trailer and got it licensed ($75). Jaz's racing jacket did not come in so we will just use her jean jacket for another week.

New trailer works great! 7 Karts showed up for racing and they broke them down into groups A & B for the heat races. Jaz got 1st place in her first heat and 2nd place in her second heat. She started up front on the outside for the feature and got a great start and jumped in front. The #3 Kart kept the pressure on but soon fell back and then it was all Jaz! She was running a pretty good lead and looked like a solid win when a crash and spinout brought out the caution in front of her, she tried to slow but hit the number #95 Kart involved in front of her. It was a pretty good hit and the track officials came over to make sure she was alright. Once again the right side of her neck got pinched but with only 2 laps left she wanted to continue. On the restart she got passed and finished with a solid 2nd place. After the race I had her show me where she hit and it looked like it was only with the front bumper. We spoke with the #95 Kart and they said we hit their back bumper so at least both Karts were OK.
