After our race we will have a 2 week break, at this point I am looking forward to that! Pulled Kart out of trailer on Wednesday, the girls cleaned it and we changed the oil to Quaker State Q full synthetic 10W-30 and blew out the air filter. I did some work on the trailer as it was a perfect day of 104 degrees out! I started the Kart up and noticed it was idling very high, I tried to adjust the cable but the plate that was attached to the motor came off. We ran out to see our buddy Mike and he spot wielded the plate back on for us but the throttle return is not working which means it likes to stick open. We could not figure it out so I called Jerry (Quick Service) and we are taking the Kart out to him this afternoon.

Last time Mike helped us it was Memorial day week-end and now it was on the hottest day of the year - Mike you don't know how much we appreciate you!

Stopped out at Quick Service ($20). They pulled the gas tank off and the throttle cable connects to the governor and that part had come apart. They fastened it together and at least we won't have to worry about that happening again. We unloaded the Kart and set it up on sawhorses and checked all the bolts and fired the motor to make sure everything was OK, we loaded it back in the trailer and packed our new lawn chairs and we are ready to go! - a whole day in advance! Cousins Ashley and Steph are planning on going out to the track with us tomorrow.

Well others did warn me, when you bring people out to see you race you always perform worse. Jaz was no exception. We got her racing jacket about an hour before we had to go, she likes it. A lot of Karts showed up in her class (14). They broke it down into heat's A and B and even had 2 features. Jaz got 4th her 1st heat and 5th in her 2nd heat. For the feature she got 4th. She did have one minor mishap and once again her neck got pinched, but she continued on. Her feature had lots of excitement as one kart spun around went all the way across the track on the infield and popped out on the other side, pretty sure that's not how they want the kids to race but who knows - I'm thinking Monster Trucks in that kids future!
