Jaz played a make-up game for soccer last week and has yet another make-up game this Friday! This is the 3rd race we have missed, looks like we are going to get in late this year. Oops my mistake, no soccer game this Friday, looks like we will race! I took a look at her helmet and actually took the face shield off and found out that the protecter plastic on the back of the sunshield and the back of the visor were still there! I'm not sure how she saw thru that! Joy and I also adjusted her new seat belts and changed from a 4-point system to a  5-point system all in the name of safety and we are hoping that the safer Jaz feels the better she will run. She still has not driven the Kart with the increase in weight, wish us luck...

Awesome night of racing! We are trying to sell our house and someone wanted to look at it today and we said fine but we will be loading up and getting ready for racing so off we were trying to get ready and straitening up the house at the same time! On a good note, with all that rushing around we were early in leaving for the track

Jaz wasn't sure if she wanted to race this year so we made a deal that we would run at least 1 points race and then she could decide from there. We got to the track and lots of people came up to us and welcomed us back and said they were afraid we wouldn't be back this year and were glad to see us. Jaz got to run around with the other drivers and then it was time for her to run some hot laps with the extra weight in the Kart. She came off the track and said she had made her decision and the answer was "YES"!

The Kart had a full tank of gas and after a few hot laps the scale had her weighing between 309-311 lbs (she has to weigh a min of 310 lbs after a race). We thought that was too close so we scrambled around trying  to add weight to the Kart. A fellow team loaned us a spare 5 lb weight and we attached it to her rear bumper. After the 1st heat race she went across the scales at 316 lbs and then 315 lbs after the 2nd heat race, we decided to leave things alone for the feature.

Lots of Karts showed up and they ran 3 heats and 2 features. Jaz was in the 1st feature with a total of 13 Karts. With that many Karts it was tough to keep track of everything. Jaz faded to the rear on the start but passed a couple of Karts during the race and ended up with a 9th place finish!
