Oops, last minute stuff again. The girls last day of school was yesterday (Thursday) and we race tonight and I haven't even looked at the Kart from last week. I will run around this afternoon and find some weight and get that mounted and do a quick check of the Kart and then we are off...

Loaded up and headed out to track. 20 Karts showed up for Jr 1 class. We were lined up and ready to run some practice laps when Jaz got a little tap on her rear bumper, I looked back and it was Ryan in the #20t smiling and laughing. I told Jaz that it was Ryan giving her a little tap and she pumped her fist in the air (the two joke around). I told Jaz to take it easy on the practice laps because the track was just watered down and pretty slick. They were out there running like it was the final race! Ryan kept trying to pass but Jaz was holding him off, it was good to see them out there having fun! Jaz ran across the scales after practice and had picked up 2 lbs of mud! We cleaned the Kart off and got ready for the heat races.

Not a good night with the heat races as Jaz ended up last in both. They had split up the Karts for the heat races but had all 20 for the feature - that was a lot of Karts! You just knew something was going to happen and I was hoping Jaz could avoid it by started in the back. Sure enough some Karts got together and the caution came out. The track had quite the time getting the Karts to line up in proper order and the restart was just terrible for Jaz as the Karts were so strung out. Towards the end of the race Jaz got the blue flag as the field was coming around to lap her. She thought she had done something wrong and was very distraught when she came off the track I tried to explain to her that she didn't do anything wrong and the blue flag was shown to her to let her know that the leaders were coming up behind her, of course hearing this from Dad wasn't good enough but after she talked with some other drivers she was OK and life moved on - I just hope this isn't a sign of the teenage years to come. Jaz finished in the 19th position.
