I saw that rain was in the forecast and it was Jaz's last day of school so put off doing anything to the Kart. Sure enough the night's racing was called because of weather. A non-points race was re-scheduled for Monday, but once again was called because of weather the night before.

It was Memorial Day and we pulled the Kart out to look things over. The front end looked OK but the right front wheel had a little play in it, we counted the washers that were on both sides and decided to add one to the bottom of the wheel. Not enough clearance for 2 washers but we found one that was thicker than the one being used and that tightened up the wheel. Ramono's True Value was open on Memorial Day and we stopped and picked up a bolt for the 10lb weight to mount on the rear of the seat and some bolts for the gas tank as the ones that were on there fell out. We put everything together and checked the other bolts when Joy noticed a crack in the gas tank. Sure enough the bolts were not correct and I had tightened them too much and cracked the tank (darn plastic!). I have no idea as to where to get a replacement tank and bolts...

I had put some epoxy on the crack that was on the top of our trailer and we decided to paint it orange to match the color of Jaz's Kart. We also got some racing stickers for the back of the van and the sides of the trailer and Joy went ahead and put them on.
