RAGBRAI 24 - 1996
My wife was tired of driving the support vehicle and wanted to ride this time. We joined up with team Flashback and the whole family went, Jake, Joy and myself. That is the great thing about RAGBRAI, it can be whatever you want it to be - a party or a family thing. On our 1st night we actually got to see Tom Arnold dump his bike, although I'm sure he denies it! We had some great overnights and I would suggest anyone going on the ride to go with a team, so much more enjoyable! This was the year that we got to go to the highest point in Iowa, I got to sit down on the sidewalk outside a grocery store and have lunch with my family, remember the clouds rolling into Estherville? This was also the year that the team camped out at a race track and the next morning our driver thought she would take the truck for a little practice run! Don't forget about those little guys from Charles city. How about our midnight sandwich stop coming home?
