The teams of RAGBRAI held a mid-winter event to benefit the family of Battalion Chief John Moran, FDNY and member of RAGBRAI Team Escape from New York. Chief Moran was lost in the collapse of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. John Moran's brother, Mike, is also a RAGBRAI'er. He's the firefighter who, on national television, challenged Osama bin Laden to "Kiss my Irish ass."
It's sad to say, but we were all set up and ready to go when we decided to pull out and not go this year. We had a busy year and things just got away from us and something had to give - blah, blah, blah
Enough whining, the training continues and we will be back!
Saturday, August 31 comes along...
there was no way I was going to miss the CLASSIC BACKROAD BIKE RIDE!
I hitched along with Team Slo Spokz. What a riot! Blender Boy was ready with margaritas', of course, help was needed for the blending!
