1st bike ride of the year, Winterfest Jan 7th with temps in the 50's!
It is already the middle of June! I did take the RANS in for repairs ($255). New shifters, brake levers, rear cassette, crank bearings & tune-up. Bike was still not shifting properly, upgraded front derailleur ($50).
It was just announced the other day that Lance Armstrong will join us on RAGBRAI this year for at least 1 day, super cool!
I have trained over 400 miles and did the Worth's Good Enough ride on July 16th. It was hot (well over 100) and we didn't start till 1:00pm. I don't think I ever drank as much water and Gatorade in my life! I was very wiped out by the end of the ride. I did not realize how much till I jumped on the scale the next morning and realized I had lost over 5 pounds during the ride!
I was going to throw my stuff in with my buddy and we were planning on going up to Sergeant Bluff Saturday and riding Sunday and than coming back on Monday but plans change, it now looks like I will not be riding at all. We will still go up on Saturday and see the Team off but then it is back home for us.
