My Views:

For what it's worth......

1) I strongly believe that "computers" are not game machines. Game machines have one purpose and they perform that purpose very well. They cost a lot less, they don't crash and they're easy to set-up.

2) Home computers should never answer the phone! Do yourself a favor and just buy a $30 answering machine. The same goes for faxes, if you need to receive faxes, just get a stand-alone fax machine.

3) If you're using your phone line for the Internet, stop and get a 2nd line now! I've been trying to call for the last hour! If you can, free up that phone line with a cable modem or DSL service from your phone company (it lets you talk and surf at the same time on 1 phone line!)

4) When an error does occur, shut the machine off wait 10 seconds and then turn it back on. Simple and basic, but you wouldn't believe the number of people who forget this little rule!

5) BACK IT UP! I've said it once and I'll say it again, "If it wasn't backed up then it must not have been important to begin with!". Systems are easy to re-load, but it's your data that is valuable! You don't have to back up the entire system, just your data.
